National Pavilion of UAE at the 58th Venice Biennale

We have been commisioned by Lammeh and Salama bint Hamdan Foundation to exclusively capture the National Pavilion of United Arab Emirates at the 58th Venice Biennale. The National Pavilion curated by cult duo Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath featuring the highly acclaimed poet and filmmaker Nujoom Alghanem.

For Art Reoriented, the independent curatorial platform Bardaouil and Fellrath co-founded in New York and Munich, this exhibition has a historical importance on changing people’s points of reference of the east and imagining a new canon. They favour the term “transmodernity”.

The combination of poignant spoken verse, the searing depiction of a woman on the edge and astounding soundtrack make this a Biennale masterpiece.

We created series of films to represent this culturally important moment for the eastern art.

We also created an exclusive film for the National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia supported by Misk Art Institute which returns to the Venice Biennale after an eight-year hiatus with an installation by the Jeddah-based women artist Zahrah Al Ghamdi.
